My 3rd Quarter reflection
This 3rd quarter has been the best quarter for me because I have learned a lot in the field of web pages and web sites. I have enhanced my creativity and this also taught me that I need a hand from my classmates to be able to complete it.

In the last quarter, I mentioned that the computer in my work area does not function well because of the conflict of IP address. But in this quarter the computer in my work area is now working thanks to sir Froilan.

In this 4th quarter, want to discover more about the internet and other stuff related to computers. I want more lesson like this in the next quarter.

The True Essence of Christmas is Love

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. A time for us to understand the lessons from Jesus & reflect on them. Jesus brought a new religion based on love & the vision of a God who is full of compassion & forgiveness; a vision of doing everything with a positive mindset & from a place of love.

In today’s day and time, it is easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Amidst the delicious meals, sweet drinks, lovely songs & dances, beautiful friends & family members we would come across this season, let’s try not to forget about the child, born on a winter night so cold, whose bed was made only of hay & animal food; our lord Jesus Christ, who taught us all what real, genuine & unconditional love is. As we celebrate the birth of our saviour, let’s be human & kind enough to remember & show some love to those motherless babies, helpless orphans, hospital patients, prisoners, beggars & all those who are not fortunate enough to be actively involved in the celebration of the birth of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

END VAW NOW
The Philippine Commission on Women, in coordination with Inter-Agency Council on Violence Against Women and Children (IACVAWC), is tasked to lead, monitor, and evaluate the annual nationwide observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW. Adopting the theme “VAW-free community starts with Me” for year 2016 to 2021, the campaign emphasizes everyone’s commitment and contributions on ending VAW, and presents an ideal picture of a VAW-free community, thus inspiring the general public to make a personal commitment to end violence against women and children.
This year’s campaign continues to underscore the significant role of individuals, especially the youth, in fighting violence against women and girls within various institutions. It focuses on Primary Prevention to reduce incidents of VAW across the country, which can be achieved by empowering individuals to know and claim their rights, and to educate them where to seek help in cases of violence.

Save the Environment

The then President Corazon C. Aquino approved the Proclamation No. 237 on April 4, 1988, declaring the month of June every year as Philippine Environment Month and to give time and effort towards the protection, enhancement and development of the country's environment.
Meanwhile, the country's celebration of World Environment Day was declared by the late President Ferdinand Marcos on June 1, 1973, by virtue of Proclamation No.1149, Series of 1973, in consonance with the United Nations General Assembly's Resolution No. 2994 dated December 15, 1972, declaring the 5th day of June every year as World Environmental Day and urging governments in the United Nations System to undertake on that day, activities reaffirming their concern for preservation and enhancement of the environment.

Value your values

BAYANIHAN (Volunteerism), Damayan (Helping one another), Pagkamatapat (Loyalty), Hiya (Loss of face and prestige), Utang na loob (Debt of gratitude), Sariling sikap (Self-reliance), Pakikisama (Comradeship), Matulungin (Helpful), Bukas ang Palad (Philanthropic), respect for elders by the use of Po and Opo when addressing them – these are some of the array of Filipino values for which the Filipino people are known worldwide.

Through the centuries and through interactions with peoples of different cultures, Filipinos have acquired patience, filial piety, close family ties, business acumen, etc., integrating them into their way of life.
These values mirror the Filipino people’s rich heritage of history and culture. They manifest the things in life that Filipinos revere. With these values, Filipinos have coped with the vicissitudes of life.
One value that has not been emphasized in our people’s education is Isang dugo, one blood, one race, referring to our common origin in the past. This is one beautiful and endearing value that we must teach our children to help preserve the unity of our nation.
We observe the month of November as Filipino Values Month. Let us celebrate Filipino Values every day of the year. This will help us keep ourselves together as one people of one blood.

UN-ited as one

Today we honor more than one million men and women who have served as United Nations peacekeepers since our first mission in 1948.

This year, the United Nations marks 20 years since the Security Council first mandated a peacekeeping mission to protect civilians.

Peacekeepers protect men, women and children from violence every day, often at great personal risk.

UN peacekeeping is a vital investment in global peace and security.

But it requires strong international commitment.

That is why we launched the “Action for Peacekeeping” initiative, which aims to make our missions stronger, safer and fit for the future.

For millions in conflict-affected situations around the world, peacekeeping is a necessity and a hope. Let us work together to make peacekeeping more effective in protecting people and advancing peace.

EXErs

In this quarter i have learned about html. It's easy to type but you must need more time to type in the notepad. It's very hard to a student to catch up in this activity because of the events in school and there are computers that are not working very well.
I went to different computers just make my activities but it's not enough to finish all the activities because my classmates needs to finish their activities too. That is one of the reasons why most of the students did not finished their activities.
In this next quarter, I will be able to finish all the activities because there are now less activities in school and I wish that my computer will be working soon.

MY TEACHER, MY HERO

With World Teacher’s Day on the horizon, now is the time to start considering celebratory plans and gifts. It was first introduced in 1994 to celebrate the ‘teaching in freedom’ movement.
Each year it takes on a different theme – last year’s theme was ‘Engaging Teachers’ and the day looked at what really matters for teaching staff. Meanwhile, a few years ago, World Teachers’ Day honoured the twentieth commemoration of the 1997 UNESCO points regarding the Status of Higher-Education Teaching Personnel
The purpose of this event is to acknowledge, evaluate and enhance the instructors of the world. It’s also an opportunity to take a look at the issues surrounding educators and the teaching process, focusing on the areas that don’t quite work and trying to improve them.
The goal of this celebration is still the same today as it was when first introduced; to celebrate the role of educators around the globe. It’s a great way to show our appreciation to those who value the power of education, and also, a good opportunity to evaluate the requirements of teaching, ensuring future students’ needs will be met by educators.
SPORTSmanship, SKILLS and TALENT
School is a place where students are nurtured toward becoming responsible and productive members of society. School provides a means of molding students into capable employees or professionals in their chosen fields. Mathematics and science help students to enhance their reasoning, English helps hone and polish verbal and written communications, social studies promote socialization and awareness, and physical education encourages students to have holistic and active lifestyles and practice the arts of winning, losing, and teamwork.
In other words, participating in physical education provides invaluable life skills.

ADVANCE SCI-TECH
In keeping with the general theme “Science for the People: Enabling Technologies for Sustainable Development,” this year’s NSTW—together with the Regional Science and Technology Week celebrations—seeks to draw attention to scientific knowledge and technological applications impacting on the lives of Filipinos through the kind of development that can bring about positive, meaningful, and sustainable change.
The 2019 NSTW is the DOST flagship event, and it is expected to gather the country’s leading scientists, researchers, educators, and stakeholders to interact with investors, entrepreneurs, industry representatives and professionals leading to meaningful partnerships to bridge the S&T knowledge base and the people and organizations which it ultimately serves.
The NSTW celebration has the noble intention of harnessing the power of innovative technological ideas and concepts to power the Philippines toward new, boundless opportunities to solve longstanding societal problems. I therefore invite the public to come and take a close look at how far Philippine S&T has come and become more informed with the key role of S&T in achieving economic development and a just and peaceful society.
HAPPY STUDENTS, HAPPY SCHOOL
The Department of Education Region 1 had launched the “Happy Schools Movement” to boost the efficient implementation of the K to 12 basic education curriculum in the Ilocos provinces.
The movement seeks to promote every school in the region as a better and enjoyable place to study.
It was  anchored on the theme: “Paaralang Masayang Maglingkod, Tagumpay ng Bata’y Itaguyod.”
Through this program, the learners’ full potential is given the greatest attention by creating a happier and more positive school culture.

The movement aims to inculcate in the minds of pupils that school is not just a place for learning but also a place for fun and enjoyment as they enjoy what they are doing.
FRIENDSHIP AND DIVERSITY
Every September, Vigan City celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival.  This month-long festivity, in solidarity with other World Heritage Cities around the world, aims to strengthen the pride in the city’s history and culture, promote friendship and diversity between countries and serves as a great venue for forging ties and understanding through community’s involvement in the city’s various activities that highlights love for culture, arts and entertainment.

UNITY

The celebration of Buwan ng Wika is not just a part of our history, it is also what keeps us united as a nation. A country’s language shows how rich and unique its culture and heritage is. More than being a means for communication, language bridges different communities and strengthens it. Using the national language is one the simplest way we can show patriotism. Filipino is what makes us Filipinos a true Pinoy.
With the advent of technology and rapid ‘globalization,’ our national language has seen a number of changes. While it’s true that change is inevitable, it isn’t always a good sign. Our national language is slowly losing its power and we should start doing something about it.
In 1997, President Fidel Ramos declared the Month of August as the national language month and listed it as one of the country’s cultural events.  Along with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the Department of Education also ensures that the younger generation understands the cultural importance of this event.  Schools often have various events such as essay writing, poster and slogan making, debates, and poetry writing in the national language.
We don’t just want our kids to celebrate this occasion. We want them to understand what it means. We want them to see the importance of this occasion and why it needs to be commemorated each year. However, school activities might not be enough. We want them to really know why they should embrace our mother tongue and how they could take their Filipino identity to heart.

REFLECTION
In the first grading period, I had learned new knowledge about technology. Just like the history of the internet and about blogging. The challenges that I discovered are memorizing the history of internet because there are so many years to memorize. They say that the more you hate the more you love. Just love what you are doing and you will do fine.

Moving on, I will do my best on the next quarters so that I will gain more knowledge and improve myself. So that i make it in the honor role.

PREPAREDNESS OF PILIPINOS
The Department of health (DOH) joins the annual observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) this whole month of July with the theme “Kahandaan sa Sakauna’t Peligro para sa Tunay na Pagbabago”.
This event calls for action among national agencies and local government units to implement disaster resilience campaigns towards increasing public awareness on the importance of disaster risk reduction and management. This will cover four thematic areas, namely: disaster prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness, disaster response+, and disaster rehabilitation and recovery.
For this year’s observance of the NDRM, a series of activities will be conducted in collaboration with partner  agencies and institutions.

HEALTH IS WEALTH
We must eat healthy and nutritious food to prevent ourselves from sickness. We must avoid fatty foods, we must only eat food that are needed by our body. To be able to be active and do stuff without severe fatigue. If you can work or do activities you are healthy, but when you are easy to  feel fatigue you must eat more vegetables and fruits.
PREPAREDNESS IS SAFETY
This simultaneous earthquake drill aims to boost disaster awareness and preparedness across the country. It will help us to be ready at times when earthquake occurs, it will guide us what we will do in case of earthquake. Because we can’t predict when and where an earthquake will happen. To all the natural disasters, only earthquake is unpredictable.

SIGNIFICANT DATE IN THE PHILIPPINE HISTORY
As we come to celebrate the Philippine Independence Day, it’s important for parents to teach their kids about the heroism and sacrifice that our heroes did in order for us to have the freedom that we’re experiencing right now.
Our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal famously said that “Ang hindi lumigon sa pinanggalingan, ay hindi makararating sa pinaroroonan” and that’s very true. Knowing more about our past helps us understand our present better, and let us prepare for the future.
It also serves as inspiration to us, so that they strive to someday make our own mark in our country’s history. Which is our heroes took it upon themselves to take back our country, and put an end to Spanish rule once and for all, even at the cost of their lives.
